Solar Village was founded in 2019 by Ato Lebeza Alemu, a diaspora returned back to give back to his country Ethiopia with over 40 years of experience. His vision was to support smallholder farmers with reliable, cost-effective solar-powered agricultural solutions.
Years of Experience
Inspired by a visit to rural Ethiopia, where farmers struggled with expensive diesel-powered irrigation, he launched Solar Village. Today, the company provides solar irrigation, urban farming, and sustainable agriculture technologies, transforming livelihoods and promoting environmental sustainability.

Founded in 2019 by Ato Lebeza Alemu, Solar Village empowers smallholder farmers with solar solutions. Inspired by rural farmers' needs, it provides irrigation, urban farming, and sustainable agriculture technologies, transforming livelihoods while promoting renewable energy and environmental sustainability across Ethiopia.
Our Mission
To deliver over 5000 units of affordable, high-quality solar technologies to rural communities by 2030, with at least 35% of beneficiaries being women, supported by a strong after-sales network and a trained workforce of 10,000+ empowered local youth ensuring sustainable service delivery and inclusive economic growth.
