Lebeza Alemu is the Managing Director of SolarVillage Ethiopia, a social enterprise transforming agriculture through sustainable irrigation and urban farming solutions. With over 40 years of experience in finance and business across the U.S. and Ethiopia, Lebeza brings deep expertise and a global perspective to local challenges.
Since founding SolarVillage in 2019, he has distributed more than 1000 solar pumps to smallholder farmers across multiple regions, including Amhara, Oromia, SNNPR, Sidama, and Somali. His work goes beyond technology—he builds full support ecosystems that include well-digging, drip irrigation, market access, youth engagement, and ongoing training.
