Solar Village Ethiopia Hosts Stakeholder Visit at Gelan Arabsa Solar Irrigation Project Site

Solar Village Ethiopia (SVE) proudly hosted a high-level stakeholder visit at the Gelan Arabsa SMEs project site on May 14, 2026, where the company recently completed the installation of a solar-powered irrigation system aimed at enhancing sustainable agricultural production and supporting local small and micro enterprises (SMEs).

The visit brought together representatives from key government institutions, financial organizations, and development partners, including:

  • Sinqee Bank
  • Cooperative Bank of Oromia
  • OXFAM (Admin Partner)
  • P4G (Project Donor)
  • Shaggar Agriculture Bureau
  • Addis Ababa Urban Agriculture Commission

The stakeholder visit provided an opportunity to observe the implementation and impact of the solar irrigation system, which is designed to improve water access, increase agricultural productivity, and promote climate-resilient farming practices through renewable energy technology.

During the visit, participants discussed the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing sustainable agriculture, strengthening local SMEs, and expanding access to clean energy solutions across urban and peri-urban farming communities.

Solar Village Ethiopia reaffirmed its commitment to delivering innovative and environmentally friendly technologies that contribute to food security, economic empowerment, and sustainable development in Ethiopia.

The Gelan Arabsa project stands as another important milestone in SVE’s ongoing mission to promote green energy solutions that create lasting social, economic, and environmental impact.
