Solar Village Ethiopia is pleased to announce the successful installation and handover of a solar-powered irrigation system for Mr. Tesfaye in Meki. Demonstrating efficiency and strong coordination, the entire project was completed within just two days — from initiation on May 5, 2026, to final delivery on May 6, 2026.
The newly installed system includes:
- A solar-powered water pumping solution
- Drip irrigation infrastructure covering 500 square meters
- Irrigation support for a total agricultural land area of 3 hectares
This achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts and contributions of key stakeholders:
- The One Million Birtu Initiative – 50% project support
- Solar Village Ethiopia – 10% contribution
- Mr. Tesfaye – 40% investment
- Loan facilitation provided by Cooperative Bank of Oromia
The system has been fully installed, tested, and officially handed over to the beneficiary. It is expected to significantly improve water-use efficiency, enhance agricultural productivity, and promote sustainable farming practices in the area.
This successful implementation reflects Solar Village Ethiopia’s continued commitment to delivering clean, reliable, and impactful renewable energy solutions that empower farmers and strengthen climate-resilient agriculture across Ethiopia.
