Solar Village Ethiopia Successfully Hands Over Solar-Powered Irrigation Project in Arba Minch Zuria Woreda

Solar Village Ethiopia has successfully completed the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of a solar-powered irrigation system in Kolashelie Kebele, Arba Minch Zuria Woreda. The project marks another important milestone in the organization’s commitment to expanding access to clean energy solutions that enhance agricultural productivity and improve rural livelihoods.

As part of the handover, Solar Village Ethiopia’s technical team provided practical operation and maintenance training to the beneficiary community, equipping end users with the skills and knowledge needed to operate and maintain the system effectively for long-term sustainability.

A special highlight of the handover ceremony was the visit of Solar Village Ethiopia’s Managing Director, Mr. Lebeza Alemu, who toured the project site with his family. During the visit, he met with community leaders and Woreda Agriculture experts to discuss the project’s objectives, its expected impact on local farming communities, and the vital role of solar-powered irrigation in promoting climate-smart and sustainable agriculture.
