Solar Village Ethiopia Promotes Clean Energy Solutions Among Farmers in Adama Wonji
Solar Village Ethiopia (SVE) conducted a farmer awareness and engagement session in Adama Wonji on October 27, 2026, aimed at promoting renewable energy technologies and introducing farmers to practical solutions that support sustainable livelihoods and agricultural development.

The session focused on increasing farmers’ awareness of the benefits and applications of clean energy technologies, particularly in improving household energy access, supporting agricultural activities, and reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.

Introducing Practical Clean Energy Solutions

During the awareness session, Solar Village Ethiopia presented three of its key products and service areas:

1. Solar Home Systems

Participants were introduced to solar home systems as a reliable and environmentally friendly energy solution for households, providing access to electricity for lighting and other basic energy needs, particularly in areas with limited access to conventional electricity.

2. Biogas Technology
The session highlighted the benefits of biodigesters, which convert organic waste into renewable biogas for cooking and nutrient-rich bio-slurry that can be used as organic fertilizer. This technology offers an opportunity to promote waste management, reduce reliance on traditional cooking fuels, and support sustainable agricultural practices.

3. Solar-Powered Water Pumping Systems

Farmers were also introduced to solar-powered water pumping technologies, which provide a sustainable alternative to diesel-powered irrigation systems. By harnessing solar energy, farmers can reduce fuel expenses, improve access to water, and support more reliable agricultural production.

Building Awareness for a Sustainable Future

The awareness initiative reflects Solar Village Ethiopia’s continued commitment to expanding access to clean energy technologies and promoting climate-smart solutions that respond to the practical needs of farmers and local communities.

By connecting farmers with appropriate technologies and sharing knowledge about their benefits, SVE aims to encourage the adoption of sustainable energy solutions that contribute to improved livelihoods, agricultural productivity, and environmental protection.

Solar Village Ethiopia remains committed to advancing clean energy access and sustainable agricultural development through innovative technologies, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.
