Solar Village Ethiopia and Oxfam GB Convene Field Days and P4G Project Review Workshop to Advance Sustainable Enterprise Development
15 May 2026 | Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Solar Village Ethiopia (SVE), in partnership with Oxfam GB, successfully conducted Field Days and the Quarterly P4G Project Progress Review & Sustainability Workshop on 14–15 May 2026 at selected Small and Micro Enterprise (SME) project sites and Adam Germain Hotel.
The two-day event brought together representatives from Oxfam GB, P4G, government institutions, financial partners, development organizations, and SME beneficiaries to assess project progress, exchange experiences, and strengthen collaboration for sustainable enterprise growth.
Learning from Successful SME Models
As part of the Field Days program, participants visited Mandefro Urban Vegetable Farming SME and Adanu Tsehay Ena Godenochachewo Vermicompost Producer SME. The visits provided an opportunity for stakeholders to observe project outcomes firsthand and engage directly with enterprise owners and members.
Participants gained valuable insights into the SMEs’ business development journeys, including their adoption of innovative practices, operational achievements, challenges encountered, and opportunities for future growth. The exchanges facilitated practical learning and highlighted the important role of entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration in creating sustainable livelihoods.
Reviewing Progress and Strengthening Sustainability
The Quarterly P4G Project Progress Review & Sustainability Workshop served as a platform for stakeholders to review project achievements and assess progress toward intended outcomes.
Through project presentations, beneficiary success stories, and short video showcases, participants reflected on key accomplishments, lessons learned, and the impact generated across supported enterprises. Discussions also focused on identifying practical approaches for sustaining project benefits, strengthening market linkages, enhancing stakeholder coordination, and scaling successful interventions.
The workshop encouraged constructive dialogue among partners and reinforced the shared commitment to promoting climate-resilient enterprises, inclusive economic development, and sustainable community growth.
Looking Ahead
The event concluded with clear action points and renewed commitment from all stakeholders to continue supporting the long-term sustainability of project outcomes. Participants emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among development partners, government institutions, financial service providers, and SMEs to maximize impact and create lasting change.
