Solar Village Ethiopia successfully conducted a two-day theoretical and practical training from March 5–6, 2026, at the Solar Village Ethiopia Office in Addis Ababa. The training focused on Sistema.bio biodigester technology, solar-powered irrigation systems, and urban agriculture, equipping participants with practical knowledge and hands-on skills to promote sustainable farming and renewable energy solutions.
The training brought together participants from several parts of Ethiopia, including Addis Ababa, Melka Nono, Sululta, Mojo, Dire Dawa, Wolkite, Halaba, Abeshigie, Woldiya, and Nekemtie. This diverse participation reflects the growing interest among young professionals and practitioners in climate-smart agriculture and renewable energy technologies across the country.
During the two-day program, participants participated in both theoretical sessions and practical field exercises, covering key areas such as:

Solar-powered irrigation system design and technical requirements

Site selection and layout preparation

Data collection and monitoring methods
The training also included a hands-on field session in Sululta, where participants practiced biodigester site selection, layout preparation, and installation techniques, allowing them to gain real-world technical experience.
⭐ A major highlight of the event was the presence of H.E. Solomon Soka from the Ministry of Labour and Skills.
H.E. Solomon Soka delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the critical role of skill development in empowering youth and strengthening Ethiopia’s transition toward sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and green job creation.
He encouraged participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills to support local communities, promote innovation, and contribute to building a resilient and sustainable nation.
This training marks another important milestone in Solar Village Ethiopia’s ongoing commitment to strengthening local capacity and expanding access to sustainable technologies across Ethiopia.
